I get excited about that kind of thing too. The yellow really makes the colors stand out. Great work!

These square are real nice and colorful - you're going to end up with a beautiful blanket. :)

Wow, I really like these blocks, but boy does that look like a lot of sewing. So you crochet the four little blocks and sew them together to make one bigger block? ... or do you crochet them together? I'm not into making grannies because of that assembly reason. I don't have that much patience ;-) I can't wait to see the whole Afghan! I wonder how many hours you will have invested once it's done. It would be interesting to know.

Thanks Ladies. I too, am impatient... but I have learned to make large projects like this in small steps, such as making just the squares, then I'll put it down for a few days, then I made all the 4 square blocks, put it down, now I'm working on the trim...

And as for connecting them, my 81 year old neighbor showed me a quick and easy way to stitch them together with a large plastic needle. Put right sides together and stitch through the outside loop on each piece with a whipstitch it comes out flat and almost invisible. So its not too much work.

So far I only have about 15 hours in the whole project, and thats probably an over-estimation. I can't wait to get it done.

@ Doris... I forgot to say, yes I do stitch the 4 grannies together then continue the granny pattern around them. Then I stitch the finished blocks together and then do the granny pattern around for the border
