So excited!!!

We finally havea Local Yarn Shop!!! OH MY GOSH, I am in heaven when I'm in there. They even give free lessons for crochet, knitting, tatting, needlepoint and latch hooking if you buy your supplies there.

Me and my niece went shopping there and this is what we bought.

I love the way everything is displayed, andthe friendly people there. While I'm out of school on break this week I am going up here to get some lessons on how to do pattern stitches in knitting
because all I can do right now is the knit and purl stitches.

Have a great day!!!

Trying to teach myself to knit.... again.

Well, this makes my third attempt in the last few years to tea h myself to knit. I am actually making some progress this time; I've learned to do the knit stitch and the purl stitch within just a week. I have been looking at free You Tube videos for beginners and it has helped tremendously. However, as you can see by the picture, my scarf is rolling up along the sides. It actually looks like a tube, I just unrolled some of it for the picture. The stitches are consistent, and not too tight or loose. I am wondering if blocking this will work as it does in crochet?

If anyone knits and can offer me any tips, I would greatly appreciate it. No one else in my family and friends circle does crafts, so I'm kind of on my own.

I bought a Nook Ebook reader today

I absolutly love this thing... No more toting around an extra book or two, or pililng up my craft magazines into my bookbag. It even has games and pdf file storage capabilities, plus is wi-fi ready so connection is easy almost everywhere.

I love the fact that it uses sd cards for.extra storage because that allows me to have one for.books for school, one for pdf crochet and knit patterns and another for kids books. I think is going to prove to be one of the best purchases I've made in a very long time.

Chocolate cupcake delight....

Miriah bought Amelia a chocolate cupcake yesterday and this is the result... She absolutly loved it and ate it all. However, I had to dig cupcake out of her left ear and nose when she was done.

These are the moments I truely enjoy about being a grandma. Oh how I love this little girl!!!

catching up with old friends

Wow! How lucky am I? Within the last week, 2 friends from 2 different states have each found me on Facebook. I haven't heard from 1 of them since right after Hurricane Katrina hit us andthe other one I lost contact with since before Hurricane Katrina. I am so excited and feel so blessed to have them and their families back in my life. They are both very dear to my heart and I had never stopped thinking about them.
I had tried a few times through the years to locate them online with no luck, but eventuaoly they found me.
My weekend was great and now its SUPER!!!

granny square afghan finally finished...

I finally put an edge around this afghan. My husband chose the color and made the decision for me to only do one round of single crochet around it. He said anything more would take away from the great grannies in the middle... He loves it but I think it looks totally unfinished. Opinions please. I always ask his opinion but then never use any of his suggestions and it hurts his feelings, so this time I decided to go with what he said.

I am currently working on a quick and easy poncho right now andit should be done next week due to tons of med science homework. Then I'll be working on slippers for the boys since they put in a request for camo ones before winter gets here.
I also want to make Amelia adress for her birthday I just have to find a pattern I like.

Happy Hookin and Happy Labor Day weekend! Everyone besafe and enjoy!
