Easy slippers

I absolutly love these slippers I made yesterday. They are so easy to make and oh so comfortable. It only took a couple hours from start to finish. This was one of the patterns out of my Christmas book I purchased a few weeks ago.

granny square afghan stage 4

Well, I have finally had a little time away from schoolwork and housework to work on some crochet. I have put all 12 of my blocks together but am now at the point where I need to choose a border color. The only problem is, I have no clue what color to use. I like the fact that is bright and cheery, so I know I don't want to use black. I wasthinking either white or a bright pink, but can't decide. Does anyone have any ideas they would like to share? I'm open to suggestions.

My daughter's 2 best friends. Trying to make it big!

Okay so, you may not be into rap music but give this a look. Its my daughter's 2 best friends, one is Will aka Thrill Will, age 19, he raps and sings, the other is Chaz, age 21, he is going to school to be a film writer/director.

This is Thrill Will's video "HEART ATTACK MUSIC ( CODE BLUE)" directed by Chaz Singleton. Not vulgar, I think theres only one or two curse words in it.

The song got it's name because everytime Will was ready to film the video, his congenital heart defect would act up and he'd end up in the hospital.

so here's the link. if you like it please share it with everyone you know.

p.s. if the link doesn't work, you can search it on youtube under heart attack music (code blue)

Favorite pattern from my new book.

I have finally decided that this is my favorite pattern oit of my new book, Christmas In Crochet. I think I am starting on this one today, but instead of using size 10 crochet thread, I will use Sugar N Cream cotton to make it. I know it will be much bigger in the end, but hats the idea. The pattern given has it 7 3/4 inches tall, so mine should close to double it! Then I can stiffen it up with starch and use it for a tree topper instead of atable topper.

My newest purchase for my craft book library

CHRISTMAS IN CROCHET

I absolutly love this book. I ordered it from House of White Birches on a 21 day free trial basis but ended up paying for it on day 3.

Here is a few things I love about it:

1. It is spiral bound so it lays flat on my book holder.
2. It has 58 new patterns ranging from easy to intermediate.
3. Patterns range from quick ornaments and decor to full size bedspreads.
4. There is something for every aspect of Christmas decorating.

So, if you are looking for a new book, you might want o check this one out.

granny square wip next stage

these are the bpocks with the first round on them after they were stitched together in groups of four.
they will end up with a total of three rounds around them before being put together to form the afghan.
then, i will add three rounds around the entire afghan, and maybe a fancy ruffle edging or shell boader after that. not totally sure yet.
i just love how it is turning out.
any tips or suggestions you may have are welcomed.

Just an update

I just wanted to let everyone know that I have been very busy these last two weeks with the kids going back to school and finals at school this week.

I will definitely be posting regularly again very shortly. I have lots of pics of my afghan in progress, which is coming right along! I think it will be great when it's finished.

Granny square afghan WIP

This is the first 20 squares of my new afghan. This is the first time I have blocked any of my projects and am anxious to see the outcome. I havequite a few more made already, but I think I need to make about 70 more to be done. I will continue to post pictures as the work progresses.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I am so excited, my kids go back to school this Thursday and my oldest son is marching in the high school band!
