This is a huge, 5 foot coccoon thatis in the tree in our front yard. There are hundreds of tiny catepillars in it. I am so anxious to see what beautiful new creatures will emerge from it. The boys and I wiol keep and eye on it and post pics along the way. This is truely oneof natures great miracles of life.

I'm really curious as I have a much smaller one in our crab apple tree but I thought that they were not butterflies that will emerge but moths. Let me know if you know anything further I'd be interested.

Hmmm. Not sure. Because I was thinking its a little late in the year for butterflies isn't it? Maybe itis moths? I'm going to check it in a few days and I'll post any changes.
