Knit scarves made with my yarn shop finds.

The scarf I made with the 3-ply ribbon yarn I purchased. It's so soft and stretchy. Very comfortable. Much better than I thought it would be.

This is the decorative scarf I made with the textured cotton thread. Very light and airy and feels on your skin. I think this will go great with a gray pants suit.

This is the thick wool winter scarf, made from 100% wool that is hand dyed. It is very warm and fluffy. Can't wait until I can use it.

Knit hat and scarf set

This is for my grand daughter for her birthday. It is my very first knit hat. I have made quite a few knit scarves but thats all I had been able to do. I finally am getting the hang of the basics of knitting.

So excited!!!

We finally havea Local Yarn Shop!!! OH MY GOSH, I am in heaven when I'm in there. They even give free lessons for crochet, knitting, tatting, needlepoint and latch hooking if you buy your supplies there.

Me and my niece went shopping there and this is what we bought.

I love the way everything is displayed, andthe friendly people there. While I'm out of school on break this week I am going up here to get some lessons on how to do pattern stitches in knitting
because all I can do right now is the knit and purl stitches.

Have a great day!!!

Trying to teach myself to knit.... again.

Well, this makes my third attempt in the last few years to tea h myself to knit. I am actually making some progress this time; I've learned to do the knit stitch and the purl stitch within just a week. I have been looking at free You Tube videos for beginners and it has helped tremendously. However, as you can see by the picture, my scarf is rolling up along the sides. It actually looks like a tube, I just unrolled some of it for the picture. The stitches are consistent, and not too tight or loose. I am wondering if blocking this will work as it does in crochet?

If anyone knits and can offer me any tips, I would greatly appreciate it. No one else in my family and friends circle does crafts, so I'm kind of on my own.

I bought a Nook Ebook reader today

I absolutly love this thing... No more toting around an extra book or two, or pililng up my craft magazines into my bookbag. It even has games and pdf file storage capabilities, plus is wi-fi ready so connection is easy almost everywhere.

I love the fact that it uses sd cards for.extra storage because that allows me to have one for.books for school, one for pdf crochet and knit patterns and another for kids books. I think is going to prove to be one of the best purchases I've made in a very long time.

Can't wait to see the butterflies

This is a huge, 5 foot coccoon thatis in the tree in our front yard. There are hundreds of tiny catepillars in it. I am so anxious to see what beautiful new creatures will emerge from it. The boys and I wiol keep and eye on it and post pics along the way. This is truely oneof natures great miracles of life.
